Artful Fairy Tale

To be fair, we must disclose that we are bonafide fans of Quentin Tarantino films.

The Nerdz are unified in that; we relished in the artful ride through 1969 Los Angeles film, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

The storytelling was thought-provoking and a homage to old Hollywood. There is laugh at loud dialogue, and across the board the acting is topnotch. The eight-year-old scene-stealer, Julia Butters, scenes with DiCaprio go from comical to hitting you in the feels in one line.

Each character, lead or brief, has been developed. We thought the momentum was a good slow build. Anyone who grew up in Los Angeles during the ’70s and ’80s was familiar with the Manson family.  (I was) thus I was preparing myself for the gruesome end and found the alternate fairy tale surprising.

The lush detail to the main characters lets us be submerged in the tale for the just shy of three hours.

The charming chemistry between Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio begs for another Fairy Tale.

We can see how some would find this film distasteful to the memories of that horrific evening, but what we saw was, that it gave them the happy ending they rightfully deserved.

The Nerdz Garage highly recommends, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
